The highlights of our September Board of Directors meeting…
- We are preparing for Colorado Gives Day on December 6th, an annual statewide movement to develop and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. This will be the second year that Hillside has participated in The Community First Foundation Program which began in 2007. Last year we raised over $9000! This year we hope to raise $15,000 towards our annual fund to continue to support scholarships for students in financial need, cutting edge professional development for teachers, and to support our multi-sensory curriculum and materials. We are striving for 100% parent participation this year.
We have a “super” fun theme that we are excited to unveil on facebook, the school website, and in emails to parents and supporters. Keep a look out for some “super” silly photos to get everyone excited about giving to Hillside.
- Kathy reported that the school year has started out strong with full enrollment and dozens of additional enrollment inquiries from interested parents.
- A new tradition is starting with the first board-faculty happy hour being scheduled for October so that everyone can get to know each other a bit better and so that board members get that important, hands-on sense of Hillside.
- The search for a new home for Hillside continues. The board has visited potential properties and is in the process of engaging a commercial realtor to help us find the perfect spot. Other schools in the area are also being approached to find out if sharing a campus again is a possibility.
