Penny believes that student success is a partnership between a child, his or her parents and the teacher. Her job as a teacher is to recognize the potential in each child and facilitate the learning process. She holds very high expectations for both herself and her students, and always seeks ways to build flexibility into the journey.
Penny has always been fascinated with the ways in which children learn, and the various challenges that impact their learning. As an educator, she continually adjusts and revises her role so that she is able to work best with each child’s unique needs and talents. Her students inspire her each and every day.
For the past several years, she has been fortunate to gain a diverse background. Penny has worked with children from 1st to 9th grade in special education, in both private and public schools. She is comfortable in a variety of teaching roles, and in addition to the classroom setting has taught yoga for 10 years. She enjoys many of the same challenges and rewards in teaching yoga; guiding people as they seek well-being in their lives.
Penny grew up in the upper Midwest, living in the Dakotas, Montana, and Minnesota before receiving a degree in education from the University of Kansas. She is happy to call Colorado home along with her husband and two children.
For Penny, life is rich with love for her work, family, friends and the outdoors.
