Who Should Apply

Student Profile

Students entering grades 1–12 who have been diagnosed with dyslexia or another language-based learning disability are encouraged to apply to Hillside School.

Hillside School works with  students who are struggling in traditional classrooms because their reading, writing, computing, and organizational skills do not match their cognitive potential.

 

Hillside’s program is appropriate for students with:

  • dyslexia/reading disability
  • ​disorder of written language
  • ​expressive language disorder
  • ​executive function weaknesses

Our program is not appropriate for students with:

  • ​autism spectrum disorders/Asperger’s syndrome
  • Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD)​
  • ​primary social/emotional/behavioral disorders
