Illness policy and procedures
If your child is displaying any symptom Covid-19 related, please, keep them at home. If your child or anyone in the household has any of the following symptoms, stay home:
- New loss of taste or smell (automatic 10 day isolation)
- Nausea or vomiting
- Diarrhea
- Fever of 100 degrees or more
- Chills
- Body or muscle aches
- Sore throat
- Headaches
- Fatigue
- Difficulty breathing
- Chest pain
- Cough
- Runny nose or congestion
Temperature checks at the door of the school are not enough to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Parents should check daily for any related symptoms. If symptoms appear during the school hours, the student will be isolated from the rest of the students and parents will be contacted to pick the child up.
Many times symptoms can be related to allergies or common cold. If you see a fast recovery and the student receives a note from his/her doctor that student may return after symptoms are gone. On the contrary, if a child develops fever and other household members get sick we strongly urge the family to get tested and report the results to the school as soon as you have them. If anyone in the family has been in direct contact with someone who has tested positive for Covid -19 please report immediately to the school as well.
